General Nursing & Midwifery Course (GNM Diploma)

Programme Duration

General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) is three years diploma course affiliated to H.P. Nurses Registration Council- Shimla and recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi

  • Intake: 40 students per year
  • Pattern of Examination: Annual

Eligibility for Admission:

Qualification

  • The Female Candidate (Indian National) should have passed 10+2 class preferably Science-Medical (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) & English with aggregate 40 % marks from a recognized Board of School Education or its equivalent Board.
  • Candidates having 40% aggregate marks in 10+2 class with Non-Medical, Arts, and Commerce etc. streams are also eligibly and can also apply for the same.
  • For SC/ST candidates there will be relaxation of 5% marks.

Age Requirement:
The age of candidates should be between 17 to 35 years (as on 31st December of the admission year) or as directed by H.P. Nursing Council and INC (Indian Nursing Council) and at the time of admission candidate should be physically/mentally fit.

  • However, a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit shall be applicable for SC/ST candidates.

Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course (Bachelor Degree Program)

Programme Duration

Basic B. Sc. (Nursing) is four(4)- years degree course affiliated to H.P. University, Shimla and recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.

  • Intake: 40 students per year
  • Pattern of Examination: Annual

Eligibility for Admission:

Qualification

The Female Candidate (Indian National) should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from H.P. Board of School Education /AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE /SSCE /HSCE or any other Board/University established by law in India in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually with minimum 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination . The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination will be 40% instead of 45% as stated above. Provided further that English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc.(Nursing) course.

Age Requirement:

  • The age of female candidates should be between 17 to 35 years (as on 31st December of the admission year) and upper age relax able by 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates or as directed by H.P.Nursing Registration Council and INC (Indian Nursing Council) and at the time of admission Candidate should be physically/mentally fit.
  • Admission to married candidates will be allowed subject to production of medical fitness certificate
